An economic census is set to take place in Jumla from April 20 (Baisakh 2) to June 20 (Asar 7).
According to the Economic Census Office, 17 enumerators and 3 supervisors will be deployed for the task.
Dipendra Singh Dhami, chief of the Economic Census Office, stated that detailed data will be collected on various establishments in the district, including those related to agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, as well as other registered businesses.
Based on data from the Economic Census 2018, the district has 1,569 commercial establishments, 1,246 service establishments, and 263 industrial establishments currently in operation. Among the district’s eight local levels, Chandannath Municipality has the highest number of registered establishments at 1,058, while Guthichaur Rural Municipality has the lowest at 210.
Similarly, there are 374 establishments in Kanakasundari, 358 in Tila, 308 in Patarasi, 292 in Sinja, 267 in Tatopani, and 211 in Hima, according to Chief Dhami.
The District Economic Census Office in Jumla stated that this year’s census aims to present a more accurate and updated picture of the district’s economic condition.
