The Central Investigation Bureau of the Nepal Police has once again urged the public not to operate or engage in transactions through banned online betting sites and platforms. The government has already shut down such online betting applications and platforms.
According to CIB spokesperson Shiv Kumar Shrestha, everyone is requested to refrain from engaging in or facilitating such illegal activities. The bureau has made it clear that any equipment used for such purposes will also be confiscated if found involved.
Police stated that, under the Muluki Criminal Code, 2074, those involved in such activities can be arrested and investigated for criminal offenses. Individuals found guilty may face imprisonment, fines, or both. Additionally, money earned from betting activities and the devices used will be seized.
The bureau has requested the public not to conduct or facilitate any transactions through banned betting apps or platforms and to report any such activities if observed.
