The Government of Nepal has decided to operate special rescue flights to repatriate Nepali nationals stranded in Gulf countries. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, four flights will be operated over three days starting Friday through Nepal Airlines.
On Friday evening, a Nepal Airlines aircraft will depart for Dubai. Nepalis who have already booked tickets, as well as those wishing to return home, are requested to make timely contact with the concerned authorities.
Similarly, the aircraft will return from Dubai to Kathmandu on Saturday. On Sunday, another flight will depart from Kathmandu to Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and return to Kathmandu on the same day.
Nepali embassies in various Middle Eastern countries are assessing how many citizens wish to return and coordinating arrangements to bring them back within the next three days.
Due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, regular flights in these regions have been disrupted, leaving many Nepalis stranded and unable to return home.
