Remittance inflows to Nepal increased by 37.7% during the first eight months of the current fiscal year, reaching NPR 1.449 trillion by mid-March.
According to data from the Nepal Rastra Bank, remittance inflows in the month of Falgun alone amounted to NPR 188.64 billion, compared to NPR 151 billion in the same month last year.
During the review period, foreign direct investment (equity) totaled NPR 10.84 billion.
Net transfers also rose significantly, reaching NPR 1.591 trillion, up from NPR 1.149 trillion in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Meanwhile, the number of Nepali workers receiving final approval for foreign employment stood at 273,536, while 251,985 individuals obtained re-approval. In the same period last year, these figures were 317,068 and 217,403, respectively.
