The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that Nepal is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system along with local winds. As a result, the weather is generally cloudy across the country.
At present, light rainfall and snowfall are occurring at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
On Sunday, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the remaining areas will experience partly cloudy conditions. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunder, lightning, hailstorms, and gusty winds at some places in the hilly and mountainous regions. A few places in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and one or two places in other Terai areas, may witness light rainfall with thunder and lightning.
There is also a likelihood of strong winds in some parts of the Terai regions of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
During the night, the mountainous regions will remain generally cloudy, the hilly regions partly cloudy, and the Terai regions will have mostly clear weather. Light rainfall and snowfall with thunder and lightning are likely at a few places in the mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, as well as at one or two places in the mountainous areas of Bagmati, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces and the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
Strong winds are also possible at some places in the Terai regions of Madhesh and Koshi provinces.
