The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology reports that a western low-pressure system along with local winds is currently influencing the weather across Nepal.
At present, the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki Province, Karnali Province, and Sudurpashchim Province are generally cloudy, while the rest of the country is experiencing partly cloudy conditions. Many places in Gandaki Province, some areas in the hilly region of Bagmati Province, and a few locations in other hilly and mountainous regions are witnessing light to moderate rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
This afternoon, the hilly and mountainous regions are expected to remain generally cloudy, with partly cloudy skies elsewhere. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall and snowfall with thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions, and at one or two locations in the Terai of Koshi Province.
Tonight, skies will remain generally cloudy in Gandaki, Lumbini Province, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, including the mountainous areas of Bagmati and Koshi provinces. The remaining hilly and Terai regions will experience partly cloudy conditions. A few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpashchim, and Gandaki, as well as one or two locations in the mountainous areas of Bagmati and Koshi, may receive moderate rainfall and snowfall with thunder and lightning.
