A tragic road accident in Mahottari has claimed the lives of three students, while three others sustained serious injuries after two motorcycles collided and caught fire.
According to police, the identities of the deceased and injured have not yet been established, as both motorcycles were completely burned, leaving even the number plates unrecognizable.
The injured are currently undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Jaleshwar. Shailendra Bhatt confirmed that two of the injured are in critical condition.
The accident occurred Tuesday morning at Bathnaha village along the Jaleshwar–Bardibas road section, when the motorcycles traveling from opposite directions collided. The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire, resulting in the immediate death of three students at the scene.
Police reported that the victims were students returning after appearing in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE).
