Two matches are being played today under the Prime Minister (PM) Cup One-Day Cricket Tournament.
In the first match, Prime Minister Cup action sees Koshi Province Cricket Team face Bagmati Province Cricket Team in Janakpur. Koshi sit at the bottom of the table with just 1 point from 6 matches and are searching for their first win. Bagmati, with 4 points from 6 matches, are placed eighth.
In the second match, Madhesh Province Cricket Team take on Gandaki Province Cricket Team in Parsa. Madhesh are fifth with 7 points from 5 matches, while Gandaki are seventh with 5 points from 6 matches.
According to Cricket Association of Nepal, both one-day format matches begin at 9:00 AM.
The tournament features a total of 10 teams: seven provincial sides and three departmental teams — Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, and APF Club, along with Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Played in a single round-robin format, the top two teams advance to the final. So far, only departmental teams have won the PM Cup. Nepal Police Club has won the title four times, while Tribhuvan Army Club and APF Club have each won it twice. Nepal Police Club are the defending champions.
The winner of the one-day PM Cup will receive a cash prize of NPR 1 million, while the runner-up will receive NPR 500,000.
