Kathmandu — The Government of Nepal has welcomed the ceasefire agreement reached between the United States and the Iran.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nepal described the two-week ceasefire as a positive step toward reducing tensions in West Asia. It stated that the agreement creates an opportunity for dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful resolution of differences.
The government emphasized that the ceasefire is a constructive initiative toward promoting regional peace and stability, and stressed that disputes should be resolved through peaceful means.
Expressing concern over the humanitarian impact caused by the conflict, the statement highlighted the need to ensure the safety and well-being of civilians.
Nepal also reaffirmed its support for all efforts by the international community aimed at promoting lasting peace and stability both regionally and globally.
