Kathmandu — Saraswati Tamang, a proportional representation lawmaker from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, has registered her candidacy for the post of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
According to Chief Whip Khushbu Oli, Tamang filed her nomination on behalf of the party on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Ruvikumari Thakur from the Shram Sanskriti Party has also registered her candidacy for the position.
The nomination registration deadline was set for 2:00 PM on Thursday. The election for the Deputy Speaker is scheduled to take place in the House of Representatives on Friday.
