The United States has deported 35 Nepali nationals at once via a charter flight. They arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport on April 7 (Chaitra 24).
According to SSP Krishna Pangeni of the Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau, 12 of those deported had entered the U.S. through irregular routes, while 2 had gone on student visas. The remaining individuals were deported for violating various immigration rules.
In the past two months alone, more than 200 Nepalis have been deported from the U.S. Since the start of the second term of Donald Trump, the U.S. government has tightened immigration enforcement. Individuals found without proper visa status, those overstaying their visas, or those with conduct issues have been detained and sent back to their home countries.
