Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, has successfully undergone gallbladder stone surgery.
According to the secretariat, the operation was completed successfully at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu. Doctors removed a stone from his gallbladder during the procedure.
Oli had been arrested on Chaitra 13 from his residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur, in connection with a report of the Gen-Z movement investigation commission. He was admitted to the hospital the same day after developing health complications.
Following a directive from the Supreme Court of Nepal, he was released on condition of appearing when required for investigation and was placed under family custody. Although released, he remained in hospital for treatment until the surgery was completed.
