Madhav Kumar Nepal, co-coordinator of the Nepal Communist Party, has urged the government to engage in meaningful dialogue with political parties in preparation for upcoming elections. Speaking at a press interaction organized by Press Center Nepal in Sindhulimadi on Wednesday morning, he noted that while his party supports holding elections, there has not been sufficient in-depth discussion between the government and political parties.
Leader Nepal stated, “It is neither appropriate to say that the government has created a conducive environment for elections nor to say that it has disrupted the electoral environment.” He emphasized that although his party is preparing for the elections, the dialogue between the government and political parties remains inadequate.
Referring to narratives following the Gen Z movement suggesting that political parties in Nepal lack public support, Nepal said recent political programs have not confirmed such claims. He added that the Nepali people continue to have political faith, and it is essential for the government to consult with parties to conduct free and fair elections. He also raised concerns over whether the country could be destabilized during the election process in the current situation.
