CPN-UML Publicity Department Chief Rajendra Gautam has announced that he will file his candidacy for the post of Deputy General Secretary.
Gautam, who is considered close to party chair KP Sharma Oli, had not been included in any of the party’s office-bearer positions. Following this, he stated that he would contest for the Deputy General Secretary post.
“I am filing my candidacy for Deputy General Secretary. There has been extensive discussion with the leadership. If there is an election, I will contest for the post of Deputy General Secretary,” Gautam said.
From the Oli faction, Raghuvir Mahaseth, Bishnu Rimal, and Lekhraj Bhatt are also candidates for the Deputy General Secretary position.
