Nepali Congress Jumla has recommended four leaders as candidates for the House of Representatives in the direct elections scheduled for Falgun 21.
According to party member Mahendra Karki, the recommended leaders for the direct elections are District President Karnbahadur Shahi, Central Member Kantika Sejuwal, Leader Purnaprasad Acharya, and Khadka Bahadur Sejuwal.
The district committee has also recommended names of aspirants for the proportional representation and National Assembly elections.
For proportional representation, 14 names have been recommended, including former minister Dinbandhu Shrestha, Dhanbahadur Basnet, Govind Shahi, Purichandra Devkota, Laxmiprasad Acharya, Pareklal Gharti, Gorkhabahadur Sunar, Maya Nepali, Netrakala Shahi, Karnajung Hamal, Navina KC Baduwal, Jayalakshmi Acharya, Lalbahadur Jisi, and Rajjab Alimnihar.
Similarly, for the National Assembly, the recommended leaders from Karnali Province are President Lalitjung Shahi, former State Minister Bhaktabahadur Rokaya, Bhimanidhi Hamal, and Suman Budha Basnet.
According to Karki, the candidates’ names were finalized based on internal party discussions and criteria. He added that the recommended list has been sent to the central office, and the final confirmation of candidates will come from the party’s central level.
