Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development, Kulman Ghising, has arrived in Bardiya district. His visit is focused on inspecting various development projects and laying the foundation stone for bridges in different parts of the district.
During his visit, Minister Ghising is scheduled to inspect the damaged and much-discussed Jabdighat bridge in Bardiya. He will also monitor embankments, irrigation projects, and other infrastructure works, and lay the foundation stone for a suspension bridge.
On Wednesday, the Minister will inspect the Sattighat bridge, Dalai Ghat embankment, the Karnali River erosion-affected areas of Tihuni, Okhariya Intake, and the Rajapur Irrigation Project. He is also scheduled to lay the foundation stone of a suspension bridge at Daulatpur Ghat.
Minister Ghising will additionally participate in a program organized by the Ujyalo Nepal Party. On Thursday, he will hold an interaction program at the Thakurdwara Chamber of Commerce and Industry focusing on wildlife-related problems and possible solutions. He will also inspect the irrigation canal embankment in Gulariya Municipality and again visit the Jabdighat bridge site for inspection and public interaction, according to Ujyalo Nepal Party central member Som Demandoura.
Minister Ghising will remain in Bardiya for two days. He had reached Tikapur in Kailali via Bardiya on Tuesday, where he was welcomed by Bardiya Chief District Officer Gogan Bahadur Hamal, Police Chief Saroj Paudel, and other members of the district security committee.
