Spokesperson of the Government of Nepal and Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Jagdish Kharel, has emphasized the need for the country to advance in the direction of economic reconstruction.
Speaking at the inauguration of ‘Gorkhapatra Discourse’, organized by the Gorkhapatra Institution on Thursday, Minister Kharel highlighted the importance of such discussions for the overall development of the nation.
He recalled the human and material losses suffered during the Gen-J Gen Uprising, noting that around 76 people lost their lives, over 2,500 were injured, and damages exceeded NRs 8.4 billion. Minister Kharel stressed that in such circumstances, extensive reconstruction efforts are essential.
He stated, “Now the country must move forward in terms of economic reconstruction. Discussions like these are useful for determining how to advance the nation. After the Gen-J Gen Uprising, approximately 76 people lost their lives, around 2,500 were injured, and damages exceeded NRs 8.4 billion. Therefore, we must focus on reconstruction.”
