In the ongoing UML leadership election, votes were cast for some candidates who had already withdrawn their candidacy.
One such candidate is Rajendra Gautam, who had filed for the Deputy General Secretary position. Although he withdrew his candidacy after the deadline, his name remained in the electronic voting machines.
As a result, some delegates still cast their votes for him. Out of 1,139 votes counted so far, Gautam has received 140 votes.
With 1,088 votes remaining to be counted, the final tally for all candidates is still in progress.
