Kathmandu Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol has been elected as a central committee member of the CPN-UML from its 11th General Convention with a commanding majority.
Dangol, who contested from the Capital Special Constituency under the quota for candidates below 40 years of age, secured 1,668 votes. Her victory is being viewed as a significant endorsement of youth leadership within the party.
