Nepali Congress President Deuba Calls Top Leaders for Discussion
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has called four senior party leaders for a discussion meeting.
Deuba has invited Vice Presidents Purna Bahadur Khadka and Dhanraj Gurung, along with General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma, to a meeting scheduled for Saturday at 9:00 AM.
According to party sources, the discussion will focus on the general convention schedule, the statute drafting committee, and other related issues.
The Nepali Congress has announced a timetable to hold its general convention from Poush 26 to 28. However, several leaders have expressed concerns that the schedule may not be practical or implementable. The proposed timetable includes completing ward-level conventions by Poush 16 and holding the central general convention on Poush 26.
Although the election committee and the active membership verification committee have been formed, the statute drafting committee has yet to be constituted.
