The Ujjwalo Nepal Party is set to hold its first district convention in Chitwan today.
Minister for Energy, Water Resources, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development Kulman Ghising has already arrived in Chitwan on Friday to address the gathering as the chief guest.
The first district convention, being organized at a hotel near the central bus terminal in Bharatpur, will also be addressed by central members Sita Pandey and Rima Bishwakarma, along with Bagmati Province Coordinator Prabin Tamang.
According to party leader Bhavishwar Chapagain from Chitwan, participants from various parts of the district are expected to attend the program.
He said the convention will form an ad hoc committee, after which the district committee will be given formal status. He also informed that the party will form committees in all seven local levels of the district, including Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
