Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended congratulations to KP Sharma Oli and other office bearers and members elected from the 11th National Convention of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML). A former UML vice-chairperson herself, Bhandari stated that the party’s selection of new leadership through democratic competition reflects UML’s organizational maturity and the vibrant practice of the People’s Multiparty Democracy (Jabaj).
In a message she issued, Bhandari also thanked all leaders and cadres who participated in the convention with commitment to ideology, integrity, and procedures, noting that competition is a natural and essential process in democracy that strengthens and revitalizes institutions. She expressed confidence that the newly elected leadership will move the party forward by further strengthening internal democracy, collective leadership, and organizational unity under the guidance of the party’s guiding principle, the People’s Multiparty Democracy.
