Kathmandu Chief District Officer (CDO) Ishwor Raj Paudel has said that the group led by Miraj Dhungana, which announced a protest, did not obtain permission to demonstrate at Maitighar today (Monday).
CDO Paudel stated that permission is mandatory for protests, but the group has not secured approval so far. He added that although different Gen-Z groups submitted separate applications on Monday seeking permission to hold protests, the administration has decided not to grant permission to any of them.
“Different letters have been submitted demanding permission to protest. The administration has not granted permission to anyone and will not do so,” Paudel said.
The Dhungana-led group had announced the protest on Sunday and approached the administration on Monday to seek permission. Dhungana is associated with the Gari Khan Deu (Let Us Earn) campaign. The Gen-Z group had planned to stage a protest at Maitighar starting at 11:00 am on Monday.
