Police briefly detained Ravikiran Hamal and others who staged a protest at Maitighar Mandala and later released them.
Youths led by Miraj Dhungana demonstrated at Maitighar demanding the formation of an all-party government. Five people, including Hamal, who participated in the protest were taken into custody for a short period.
The protesters demanded that elections be held only after the formation of an all-party government. They carried placards reading, “Gen Z’s demand is not elections, it is good governance.” Although Dhungana and others were prepared to offer mass arrest to the police, security personnel stopped them within the premises of the District Government Attorney’s Office.
