Chhabilal Joshi, Managing Director of Gorkha Media Network who had been in prison in connection with a cooperative fraud case, has been released on bail.
A single bench of Rupandehi District Court Judge Dilliram Sharma Aryal had ordered Joshi’s release on bail, following which he was freed after depositing the required amount. Joshi, a former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police, had been in custody on charges of embezzlement of funds from Butwal-based Supreme Cooperative and organized crime.
Earlier, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane, who had also been sent to prison for trial in the same case, was released after depositing bail amounting to NPR 37.48 million. Lamichhane’s release was ordered by the Butwal bench of the High Court Tulsipur.
