Former chairman of the Nepal Sadbhavana Party, Badri Mandal, has passed away at the age of 87. He died at his residence in Majhare, Jahada.
Mandal, who was suffering from a heart condition, was found dead after returning from the bathroom and going to rest, according to his niece Jasmin Mandal. She also informed that his last rites were performed the same day.
Badri Mandal became chairman of the Nepal Sadbhavana Party after the death of party founder Gajendra Narayan Singh. While serving as party chairman, he joined the government during King Gyanendra Shah’s rule in 2061 BS, serving as a minister and deputy prime minister.
Following strong opposition within the party over his decision to join the royal government, Mandal later resigned from the post of party chairman.
