The curfew, which began at 8:30 pm on Thursday evening, remained in effect until 6:00 am on Friday.
On Poush 6, 32-year-old Sushila Ghising Bomjan of Dhuraphant, Kamalamai Municipality–4, died after being caught in a fire. Locals have expressed anger, alleging that she was murdered by her own family members.
After the incident appeared suspicious, as Sushila died after her body caught fire inside the house, police took her mother-in-law Mayarani Bomjan, father-in-law Durgaman Bomjan, and sister-in-law Meena Bomjan into custody. Sushila’s husband, who was abroad at the time of the incident, has since returned home. Her father-in-law Durgaman is currently undergoing treatment due to injuries.
According to DSP Suryaprakash Subedi of the District Police Office, Sindhuli, locals resorted to stone-pelting after Sushila’s husband and her mother-in-law’s sister entered the house where the fire occurred.
Local residents claim they attacked the house suspecting that those who entered were attempting to destroy evidence related to the incident and take valuables.
