Nepal’s Consul General in Lhasa, Laxmi Prasad Niraula, and Director General of the Immigration Department of the Xizang Autonomous Region, Wangsi Hongbi, held a meeting at the Consulate General on Tuesday.
During the meeting, they expressed happiness over the completion of reconstruction of the Miteri Bridge on the Bhotekoshi River, which was damaged by floods in the Lhende River last Asar, and the planned reopening of the Rasuwagadhi checkpoint from Wednesday. The Consulate General stated through a press release issued today that both sides expressed confidence that this development would further strengthen Nepal–China relations.
They also discussed making all border checkpoints between the two countries more systematic, facilitating import–export activities and cross-border movement of people, and strengthening security arrangements at the border points.
