The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that a partial influence of westerly winds is currently prevailing across the country. As a result, fog and mist are expected in most parts of the Terai region this afternoon, while some provinces are experiencing partly cloudy conditions.
At present, most areas of the Terai are covered by fog. According to the Department, Karnali and Sudurpashchim Provinces are partly cloudy, and similar conditions are likely in Lumbini Province as well as in Karnali, Sudurpashchim, and the remaining high hilly and Himalayan regions.
Likewise, there is a possibility of light rain or snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces.
Tonight, fog is expected to persist in some areas of the Terai. Karnali and Sudurpashchim Provinces, along with the high hilly and Himalayan regions, will remain partly cloudy, while the weather in the remaining parts of the country is forecast to be mainly fair. There is also a chance of light rain or snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces.
The Department has warned that fog in the Terai may partially affect daily life, health, and road transportation. It has urged the general public to take necessary precautions and to stay informed through regularly updated weather bulletins.
