Today marks the 13th National Dress and Cap Day in Nepal. This day has been observed on January 1 for the past 13 years and is considered instrumental in reviving and promoting Nepal’s traditional attire.
On this occasion, various youth-oriented organizations are organizing diverse programs across the country. With the slogan “Nepali Topi: Our Identity”, young people have been celebrating this day for the past 13 years.
National dress elements such as Daura Suruwal, Topi, and Gunyu Cholo are celebrated as part of Nepali identity. The National Dress and Cap Day has been officially observed since Bikram Sambat 2070 to encourage the youth to embrace and promote these traditional outfits.
