Electricity supply in Pokhara will be shut down for five hours daily starting today until the 21st, according to the Nepal Electricity Authority. The outage is due to busbar upgrade works at the Kundahar Substation under the Pokhara Grid Division, which will continue for four days from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM, said Jitendra Yadav, Chief of the Pokhara Distribution Center.
He stated that the Authority had issued a contract for the maintenance of the 132 kV busbar at the Kundahar Substation, and the repair work has begun accordingly from today. As a result, all feeders supplied from the Kundahar Grid will be shut down during the maintenance period, and advance notice has been issued to consumers.
According to the Pokhara Distribution Center, electricity will be unavailable across the entire area from Vijaypur, the eastern entry point of Pokhara, up to Harichowk. However, if the maintenance work is completed ahead of the scheduled time, power supply may resume earlier than expected. The Distribution Center has also clarified that normal electricity supply will be restored once the busbar maintenance at the substation is completed.
