CPN-UML Vice Chair Bishnu Poudel has said that he is still not confident that the election will be held on the scheduled date. Speaking to journalists in Butwal on Saturday, he argued that the necessary environment for a free, fair, and fear-free election has yet to be created.
“We are still not confident that the election will take place on the scheduled date,” Poudel said, adding, “Elections must be held in a free, fair, and fear-free environment, but the required groundwork has not yet been completed.”
Vice Chair Poudel emphasized that it is the government’s responsibility to ensure an environment where all voters can cast their ballots without fear and all political parties can compete freely. “The government must seriously move forward with election-related preparations and complete the necessary tasks,” he added.
He also clarified that the CPN-UML has always stood in favor of holding elections.
