The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported a rise in cold conditions in the Kathmandu Valley, with residents experiencing the coldest temperatures of the year so far. According to the department’s latest update, the temperature in Kirtipur was recorded at 3.0 degrees Celsius on Monday morning.
Similarly, the temperature in Khumaltar, Lalitpur stood at 2.8 degrees Celsius, while Nagarkot in Bhaktapur also recorded 2.8 degrees Celsius. In Chautara of Sindhupalchok, the temperature was measured at 5.5 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, temperatures in higher altitude regions have dropped below freezing. Lukla Airport recorded a temperature of minus 0.5 degrees Celsius, Jumla Airport minus 5.9 degrees Celsius, and Simikot Airport in Humla minus 5.1 degrees Celsius.
