The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 28.73 points to settle at 2,639.37 points, marking a gain of 1.10 percent.
A total of 12,459,951 shares of 335 companies were traded through 84,990 transactions, generating a total turnover of Rs 6.47 billion.
All sectoral indices closed higher during the session. The manufacturing and processing group recorded the highest gain of 3.05 percent, followed by the development bank group at 2.70 percent and the hotel and tourism group at 2.53 percent.
Other sectoral gains included banking at 0.67 percent, finance at 0.83 percent, life insurance at 0.49 percent, hydropower at 1.14 percent, investment at 1.25 percent, microfinance at 0.53 percent, mutual funds at 0.43 percent, non-life insurance at 0.57 percent, trading at 0.22 percent, and the others group at 0.73 percent.
Shares of Sagar Distillery Limited, SY Panel Nepal Limited, Srinagar Agritech Industries Limited, Bandipur Cable Car and Tourism Limited, and Ruru Hydropower Project Limited hit the positive circuit.
On the downside, Standard Chartered Bank Limited Debenture declined the most, falling by 2.49 percent.
Based on both turnover value and number of shares traded, Shivam Cement Limited led the market with transactions worth Rs 386.95 million involving 622,840 shares.
