Supporters of the Nepali Congress special general convention have announced that leaders and party cadres will reach the convention venue at Bhrikutimandap with rallies starting from six different locations during the inaugural ceremony.
At a press conference held in Kathmandu on Friday, the Special General Convention Mobilization and Rally Management Committee informed that leaders and cadres will first gather at six designated points and then proceed to Bhrikutimandap in organized rallies.
According to committee coordinator Jagadishwar Nar Singh KC, rallies will be organized from Sundhara, Ratna Park, Bagbazar, Padmodaya Mode, Kamalpokhari, and Kupandole.
Stating that all preparations for public mobilization for the special general convention have been completed, KC expressed confidence that the party president and other senior leaders will be present at the inaugural session. He also said that other committees formed for the special convention have reached the final stage of their preparations.
After the supporters announced that the special general convention will be held at Bhrikutimandap on Poush 27 and 28, representatives from various districts have started arriving in Kathmandu. So far, more than two dozen district working committees have issued statements expressing solidarity with the special general convention, and this process is continuing.
Hotels in areas such as Sundhara and Thamel have been booked for the representatives, while preparation work at the convention venue, Bhrikutimandap, is progressing rapidly. Supporters of the special general convention have claimed that around 500 more convention representatives will participate compared to those who had earlier signed in support.
