The Nepali Congress has passed a condolence resolution mourning the death of senior journalist and former minister Homanath Dahal. The decision was made during a central committee meeting held on Saturday morning.
Dahal was elected as a Member of Parliament from Okhaldhunga–1 constituency in the 2056 BS general elections. He also served as the Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives. Throughout his political career, Dahal held various responsibilities within the party, contributing significantly to the organizational expansion of the Nepali Congress and playing a leading role in Nepal’s democratic movement.
As part of the mourning, the party has decided that from Poush 26 to 28, party flags at central, provincial, and district offices will be flown at half-mast, and all offices will remain closed on Poush 27. Additionally, a condolence book will be kept for 13 days, culminating in a memorial meeting in Okhaldhunga on the 13th day.
Homanath Dahal passed away earlier today.
