Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Balendra Shah, popularly known as Balen, has paid tribute to the nation builder Prithvi Narayan Shah.
The 304th birth anniversary of Prithvi Narayan Shah is being observed across the country today with various programs. On this occasion, Mayor Balen expressed his respect through social media.
Quoting Prithvi Narayan Shah’s Divya Upadesh, Balen wrote, “Both the bribe-taker and the bribe-giver are enemies of the nation,” extending his wishes on National Unity Day.
Born in 1779 BS, Prithvi Narayan Shah is remembered as the architect of modern Nepal. His birth anniversary is observed every year as Prithvi Jayanti and National Unity Day. Marking the occasion, the government has declared a public holiday nationwide today.
