Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed her best wishes on the occasion of Maghi and Makar Sankranti, hoping that the festival will inspire everyone to move forward with unity toward peace, stability, and prosperity.
Extending heartfelt greetings to all Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad, Prime Minister Karki said that there is a growing need for greater unity, harmony, and mutual trust among Nepalis.
“Today is Magh 1—Maghi, Makar Sankranti, Maghe Sankranti; the names may be different, but the essence is the same,” the Prime Minister stated in a message shared on social media platform Facebook. “It is a festival that strengthens the spirit of love, harmony, tolerance, and unity among us Nepalis.”
