Two writ petitions have been filed at the Supreme Court challenging the decision of Attorney General Sabita Bhandari to amend cases related to organized crime and money laundering involving Rastriya Swatantra Party Chair Ravi Lamichhane.
Advocate Abhas Regmi, along with two others, and Yubaraj Safal filed the petitions on Friday, claiming that the Attorney General’s decision was unconstitutional.
Supreme Court spokesperson Arjun Koirala said that two separate writ petitions have been submitted and are currently under preliminary review. He added that a decision on whether the petitions will be registered or not will be made on Sunday after the study is completed.
