The stock market closed higher by double digits on Sunday, the first trading day of the week. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 31.12 points to close at 2,672.55 points.
A total of 338 companies were traded during the session, with a total turnover of Rs 8.40 billion. In all, 16.61 million shares were bought and sold in the market.
Manjushree Finance recorded the highest trading volume of the day, with shares worth Rs 531.6 million traded. Similarly, SY Panel Nepal posted a turnover of Rs 373.9 million.
Investors in Sagar Distillery, Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta, Shreenagar Agritech, and Gorkhaz Finance earned the highest gains, as the share prices of these four companies increased by 10 percent each. Meanwhile, investors in Three Star Hydropower suffered the biggest losses of the day, with the company’s shares declining by 8.78 percent.
