The Election Code of Conduct 2082 will come into effect from midnight today in preparation for the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21.
Assistant Spokesperson of the Election Commission, Kul Bahadur Jisi, said that the decision was made during a meeting of the Commission held on Sunday. He stated that the code of conduct has been formulated and enforced by exercising the authority granted under Section 22 of the Election Commission Act, 2073, to ensure freedom, fairness, impartiality, transparency, cost-effectiveness, and a fear-free environment during the election.
Meanwhile, officials of the Election Commission are scheduled to brief members of the Council of Ministers and senior government officials about the election code of conduct later today.
