Two people died in a motorcycle accident that occurred on Monday evening in Budhiganga, Morang.
The accident took place in front of Swastik Jute Mill in Ward No. 4 of Budhiganga Rural Municipality when a motorcycle bearing registration number Province 1-02-049 P 9223 went out of control, killing both the rider and the pillion passenger.
According to the Morang District Police Office, the deceased have been identified as 31-year-old Prakash Sah of Ward No. 5, Duhabi Municipality, Sunsari, who was riding the motorcycle, and 40-year-old Kanchan Jha of Ward No. 15, Biratnagar Metropolitan City, who was riding pillion.
The accident occurred at around 7:30 pm. Both injured were immediately rescued and taken to Birat Teaching Hospital at Ganga Chowk for treatment.
Doctors declared both of them dead during examination after they were taken to the hospital, police said.
Police have suspected that overspeeding was the cause of the accident.
