Kathmandu Constituency No. 3 has recorded the highest number of candidacies so far, with 14 candidates already filing their nominations.
According to the Election Commission, a total of 1,214 candidates had registered their nominations by 3 p.m. The Commission confirmed that Kathmandu-3 leads all constituencies in terms of the number of candidates.
For the House of Representatives election scheduled on Falgun 21, nomination filing for the first-past-the-post system is taking place nationwide today.
The Election Commission stated that candidates can file their nominations from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at election offices across all 165 constituencies. Election officers have already been deployed in all constituencies.
Ahead of the nomination process, the Election Commission enforced the election code of conduct starting Monday.
There are a total of 18,903,569 registered voters across the country. The Election Commission has already dispatched voter name list booklets required for the nomination process to election offices in all 165 constituencies.
