The Election Commission has announced that complaints can be filed today against candidates who have submitted their nominations for the House of Representatives election.
According to the election schedule under the first-past-the-post system, complaints may be lodged today against candidates whose nominations have been registered.
The Commission stated that nominations and complaints will be reviewed and necessary decisions will be made by 5:00 pm on Magh 8, after which the final list of candidates will be published.
Candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations on Magh 9 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. On the same day, the final list of candidates will be published between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, and election symbols will be allotted to candidates from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The Commission said that the nomination filing process for the House of Representatives election under the first-past-the-post system was completed in an enthusiastic and peaceful manner at the offices of the Chief Returning Officers and Returning Officers.
According to the Election Commission, a total of 2,925 candidates have filed nominations. Commission Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut said that among them, 336 are women and 2,589 are men.
Similarly, 85 candidates with disabilities and 138 candidates from backward regions have also filed their nominations.
