Gold prices in the local market have recorded a sharp increase. Compared to Tuesday, the price of gold has risen by Rs 10,400 per tola today.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of hallmark gold has reached Rs 295,100 per tola today, while silver is being traded at Rs 5,920 per tola.
On Tuesday, hallmark gold was traded at Rs 284,700 per tola and silver at Rs 5,880 per tola. Earlier, on Sunday, gold was priced at Rs 278,800 per tola and silver at Rs 5,625. On Monday, gold increased to Rs 282,000 per tola, while silver was traded at Rs 5,810.
International media reports state that gold is currently being traded at USD 4,740 per ounce in the international market, while silver is priced at USD 95 per ounce.
Economic analysts attribute the rise in gold and silver prices to growing global economic uncertainty, rising inflation, and geopolitical tensions, which have increased demand for these metals as safe-haven investments.
