Former King Gyanendra Shah and former Queen Komal Shah are set to visit Janakpur. According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Secretariat spokesperson Phaniraj Pathak, the former royal couple will travel to Janakpurdham on Magh 12 to offer prayers at the Janaki Temple.
The statement said that former King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev and former Queen Komal Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah will visit Janakpurdham and pay homage at the Janaki Temple as part of their schedule.
Earlier, a meeting of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Dhanusha district committee held on Sunday had taken several decisions regarding the reception and management of the former king’s visit.
As per the decision, a 1,001-member main reception committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Shravan Kumar Jha, a central committee member of the party’s Good Governance Department.
RPP Dhanusha district president Ramchandra Yadav said that various sub-committees have been formed and preparations intensified to ensure the former king’s visit is organized in a systematic and grand manner.
