A jeep carrying mourners from Jogithum toward Ridi Ghat in Palpa met with an accident after plunging about 10 meters off the road. The vehicle, bearing registration number Lu 1 Cha 6985, crashed on the way, leaving several passengers injured.
All the injured were rescued and taken to Ruru Primary Health Center in Ridi for treatment. However, doctors declared 26-year-old Tikaram Kumal of Ribdikot Rural Municipality–1, Palpa, dead. Police said he had sustained a serious head injury in the accident.
The condition of the remaining eight injured passengers is reported to be moderate, and they are undergoing treatment. Police have stated that further investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
