The sixth edition of the ‘Ncell Tiger Cup National and International Invitational Club Championship Volleyball Tournament 2082’ will commence in Pokhara on Friday, organized by the Tiger Group of Pokhara. The tournament, held annually for the past five years, will run from Magh 9 to 17 at the Volleyball Training Center, Pokhara Stadium.
A total of five women’s teams and six men’s teams will participate, including international teams. According to the schedule released by the organizers, Thailand’s Thailand Queens will compete in the women’s category, while the Maldives national volleyball team will feature in the men’s category.
The opening day, Magh 9, will host three matches each for both women and men. In the women’s category, Tip Top New Diamond Sports Club will face Tribhuvan Army Club at 9:00 AM. In the men’s category, Tribhuvan Army Club will play against the Maldives team, followed by the local Gandaki Province Volleyball Association facing Nepal APF Club in the afternoon at 2:00 PM, as shared by tournament secretary DB Nepali.
The competition will follow a round-robin league system. After all teams play against each other, the top teams will contest in playoff matches to determine the winner, runner-up, and third place, explained coordinator Kumar Gurung.
The winning team will receive NPR 666,666, the runner-up NPR 366,666, and the third-place team NPR 266,666. Outstanding players and category-wise best performers will also be awarded cash prizes, trophies, medals, and certificates. The tournament is held under the main sponsorship of Ncell.
