Voting has begun for 17 seats of the National Assembly that will fall vacant from Falgun 20, 2082 (March 3, 2026). As one seat under the Khas Arya category in Koshi Province was filled unopposed, voting is being held for the remaining 17 seats.
In Koshi Province, Nepali Congress candidate Sunil Bahadur Thapa was earlier elected unopposed under the Khas Arya category. Voting for the remaining 17 seats is taking place simultaneously at polling centers across all seven provinces.
Polling centers have been set up at the Provincial Election Office premises in Biratnagar, Morang for Koshi Province; Mahendranarayan Nidhi Mithila Culture Center, Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City–4, Dhanusha for Madhesh Province; and Bhutandevi Secondary School, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City–4, Makwanpur for Bagmati Province.
Similarly, polling is being conducted at the Provincial Election Office premises in Pokhara, Kaski for Gandaki Province; Employees’ Milan Center, Ghorahi, Dang for Lumbini Province; the Provincial Election Office premises in Birendranagar, Surkhet for Karnali Province; and the Provincial Election Office premises in Dhangadhi, Kailali for Sudurpaschim Province.
According to the Election Commission, members of the Provincial Assemblies, mayors and deputy mayors of municipalities, and chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of rural municipalities are eligible voters in the National Assembly member election.
