A writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against the cancellation of the candidacy of Resham Lal Chaudhary, the patron of the Nagrik Unmukti Party, Nepal.
Chaudhary’s petition is scheduled for hearing before a single bench of Justice Balkrishna Dhakal.
Chaudhary had registered his candidacy for the upcoming House of Representatives election from Kailali–1. The candidacy was challenged by Satyanarayan Bhattarai of Tikapur–1, Kailali.
Based on the complaint, the Election Commission had annulled Chaudhary’s candidacy. In response, Chaudhary has approached the Supreme Court, seeking a review of the commission’s decision.
